Since 2012, Nairne Primary School, in partnership with Cue Learning, has rigorously focused its professional learning on empowering classroom practices and student outcomes in reading across the whole school. To build a stronger culture of reading, to provide ready access to books and to engage students in better book selection strategies, each class created a classroom library. In partnership with Cue Learning, Nairne Primary School co-developed the Essential Reading Principles Framework. This learning framework builds on the findings of research and guides the development of powerful classroom practices that result in improved student outcomes. This is a Department for Education and Child Development school. |

Since 2014, Kaurna Plains School, in partnership with Cue Learning, has rigorously focus its professional learning on empowering classroom practices and student outcomes in reading across the whole school. A priority has been to build a stronger culture of reading, to provide ready access to texts and to engage students in better text selection strategies, each classroom is creating a classroom library to support focused strategy instruction and develop Independent Reading. The school is also working on it's own Essential Reading Principles in Reading Framework with Cue Learning. |

From 2011-2015, Salisbury High School, in partnership with Cue Learning, has rigorously focused its professional learning on empowering disciplinary literacy practices and student literacy outcomes. Content area faculties have focused attention on the literacy demands of their subject area. A whole school focus on empowering classroom literacy practices across every area of the curriculum has resulted in clearer expectations and stronger articulation of literacy practices and strategies. Salisbury High School ATAR results have increased dramatically since 2010. The school has continued to employ Cue Learning as part of its strategy in driving that success. A whole school focus on empowering classroom literacy practices across every area of the curriculum is aimed at clearer expectations and stronger articulation of literacy practices and strategies. |
![]() St Peter's Woodlands Grammar School R-7, SA
From 2011-2012, St Peter's Woodlands Grammar School, through it's partnership with Cue Learning, has focused the Junior Primary professional learning on empowering classroom reading and writing practices. Professional learning with the Middle Primary teaching staff has empowered reading, comprehension and higher order thinking practices. More recently, the Middle Primary staff have moved into developing an inquiry approach to Spelling and Word Work. The early stages of developing a comprehensive curriculum map for Yr 3-5 Spelling and Word Work has empowered teachers to focus the teaching and track the learning. “Teachers have commented that the students are more engaged in the reading process since participating in the series of workshops. The impact of the workshops was very positive and has provided the staff with a good understanding of the concepts and has led to the teachers enthusiastically continuing the reading focus in their classrooms. From 2011-2014, Swallowcliffe Primary School, in partnership with Cue Learning, rigorously focused its professional learning on empowering classroom practices and student outcomes in literacy across the whole school. In 2013, Swallowcliffe Primary School initiated a partnership in numeracy professional learning. In 2014, numeracy and literacy professional learning is enabling teachers to make learning connections across these content areas and beyond. Whole school agreements in literacy teaching practices support consistent approaches for students. Whole school numeracy agreements will form part of the schools development in 2014. |

In 2011, Klemzig Primary School, in partnership with Cue Learning, rigorously focused its professional learning on empowering classroom practices and student outcomes in literacy across the whole school. "The scaffolding provided to teachers has enabled them to effectively introduce classroom libraries, resulting in significant improvement in students' engagement in reading. Through Sharon working alongside class teachers to plan, implement and evaluate their teaching of comprehension strategies, the school has moved much closer to achieving the aims of our focus on comprehension."
