​"Sharon Callen has been extremely helpful to me in all aspects of my profession in teaching.  She has a very warm approach that is instantly inviting and positive. She has built up my confidence as she is very complimentary towards my pedagogy and offers relevant and helpful considerations for future approaches.
Sharon helped me develop a literacy block that is rich in implementing the Big 6. My students are now engaged in the learning and follow a structured approach that is predictable and leads all students to experience success.

Sharon, with the collaboration of my Years 2,3,4 students, developed a classroom library. This classroom library is used by students throughout the school day, as they have ownership of it and is used as a reference point in all learning areas.
She helped me implement a focus on book making in my classroom. The book making process has made my students aware that they are also authors in their own right. It has developed their understanding of language and structural features in varying text types, as well as the process of drafting, editing, up-levelling and publishing.

Thanks to Sharon I have successfully implemented reading conferencing which allows me to work closely with my students and develop personalised reading strategies. This is also used for formal and informal assessments and allows me to consider each student's reading ability on a very individual level.

​Sharon is equipped with engaging and helpful resources that allow my classroom and students to continue to progress and develop.  She has provided me with professional development opportunities that have allowed me to reflect on my own teaching and has given me chances to make changes as I see fit to better the learning experience of my students. Sharon has been a fantastic sounding board for professional dialogue to further my approach in teaching.
